Brokers or "intermediaries in insurance and reinsurance" are highly trained professionals working in the best interest of their clients, providing optimum solutions through cooperation with insurance companies while representing clients in all phases of insurance contracting. The role of a broker in insurance is mainly based on the following: on the one hand, knowledge of the interests of the insured in the field of insurance, and on the other hand, professional expertise, and knowledge of the insurance market, with additional experience in establishing relations and negotiating the best possible offer tailored to the interests of the insured.
A broker is a professional who acts on behalf of the client. He/she is an expert in the insurance market, risk assessment and insurance contracting. Once the level of risk to which an individual client is exposed is established, the broker gives advice on the available insurance products suited for the clients’ level of risk as well as seeking insurance coverage for the best possible price. After concluding an insurance contract, the broker continues to be available to the policyholder and the insured in connection with the realization of their rights arising from the concluded insurance contracts, where the broker acted as a mediator. This is especially the case in the event of resolving claims.
The broker is authorized by the clients (both natural and legal persons) to perform brokerage activities in insurance and reinsurance allowing him/her to analyse and revise existing insurance contracts and adjust them to the client’s real needs. After performing market analyses, the broker suggests the most favourable insurer to the client. The service continues even after the policy is signed and includes overall care for all the client’s insurance programs. This includes professional assistance in case of a harmful event, which implies quick and adequate indemnity.
Our service is free of charge for the client, i.e. we are compensated by the Insurer, just like other channels of their internal or external insurance procurement. Insurance premiums will not be increased if an insurance broker is engaged in the process.
Our service includes all types of insurance present on the Croatian insurance market, but also insurance services that cannot be contracted on our market or are not present as a product on the domestic market. In case of such requirements, our job is to find the insurance coverage the client needs on the European market, which has become possible with Croatia's entry into the EU.
Croatia's entry into the EU opened a world of opportunities when contracting insurance with foreign insurers that do not operate in Croatia as a joint-stock company or a daughter company of a foreign insurer but operate through the so-called "Freedom of Service" directive. In this way, brokers are given a wide range of opportunities for choosing insurance coverage and specific insurance products.
